I cannot get enough of these! They are blended to perfection. What a brilliant idea! I wish you much success. You have a winner here!

I HATE flavored water with a passion…too sweet and tastes artificial…until I tried yours! So delicate, so delicious, so subtle, so PERFECT!

The only thing I could think of is . . . this is what Adam and Eve must have drunk. Purely delicious! It’s like drinking a garden.

I just wanted to share my love of your Lemon Rose water. I’ve tried most of the flavors and, to be quite honest, find them all a needed breath of fresh air. This is great for me because I’m trying to drink more water, and the taste allows me to consume without sacrificing flavor.

Pomegranate Geranium is delicious! I am always looking for something that does not have a lot of sugar in it. I get sick of drinking plain water.

My daughter thinks the Lemon Rose is “happiness in a bottle!” After she drinks it, she says it makes her feel really happy.

I just love blossom water! As soon as I saw Grapefruit Lilac, I knew I had to try it. I [now] buy it during my weekly trip to the grocery store, and as soon as I get to the car I open a bottle, take a drink and have a little mini vacation.

All of your drinks are . . . delicious [but] I am completely obsessed with Pomegranate Geranium. I love any foods which are fragrant . . . and your drinks fit into that rare niche of being aromatic. The smell and taste of these beverages is very healing.

I bought a Plum Jasmine and the flavor is so wow I had to get more ’cause you have a drink that flows with poetry and music. Gonna try the others.

I just discovered Blossom Water, and it is the most amazingly delicious drink I’ve ever had. Normally, I admit, I’m not a water drinker. But I’ve just discovered your Grapefruit Lilac, and it’s the tastiest thing…I want to drink it day and night, bathe in it…live in it. It’s that beautiful!

Very sophisticated beverage, can be served at any affair.

My favorite is the Lemon Rose, although I’m currently sipping on the Pomegranate Geranium and it’s trying to sway me. You’ve earned a very passionate customer!

I have only tasted the Plum Jasmine one, but I love the taste. It tastes so clean and refreshing, especially when you need a drop of heaven in your life.

I’m a tough critic but I have to say your water is far better than most I’ve tried, especially because it doesn’t leave any aftertaste like others. Also very smooth and tasty.

OMG. The water of the Gods! I bought every bottle T.J. Maxx in Pensacola had based on the ingredients, packaging and color. I go back every week hoping more will show up :). Although I am ordering online, I am driving to Mississippi soon to stock up.

I found a bottle of your Lemon Rose last week and fell in love! You now have one more lifelong customer.

When will this fragrant, delicious water that quenches my thirst better than plain water become available everywhere instead of Coke and Pepsi?

Your Lemon Rose reminds me of when, as a child, I steeped rose petals in rainwater on my sunny Maryland porch . . . wonderful, almost magical!

I can’t believe how fresh and clean your products taste. With only a few grams of natural sweetness that EVERYONE can enjoy.

I am having a gathering tomorrow and this water will be perfect!

Your Grapefruit Lilac is THE best flavored water my lips have ever touched!

Flavorful but not overpowering.

I cook with edible flowers and I love these waters – great concept!

The Lemon Rose goes down easy – I could drink 10 of these a day!

This water is a good alternative to the other flavored waters on the market – healthier and unique.

I like the Lemon Rose – it has a calming effect on me.

This water is so good that I am speechless!

Just found your product. Cracked open a Plum Jasmine. Love it. What a treat!

I usually drink just plain water but this is light and refreshing with just enough flavor.

I make my own fruit infused water but this is truly wonderful!

These waters are good. They don’t taste like anything else on the market.

The Lemon Rose is probably my favorite, although I find myself just sitting and smelling the Grapefruit Lilac like a loon, LOL.

This water is great! I’m going to add some to my sorbet!

I have lost a lost of weight and have been getting healthy so I drink nothing but water now and this a great alternative to plain water.

I am familiar with fruit and flower infusions and this is a great product. I am impressed!

I like this flavored water because it is not too sweet, whereas many of the other flavored waters are.

Very different and refreshing!

I have cut down on my sugar intake. I used to drink Coke all the time. This water is a nice alternative because it’s not too sweet. I think it’s great!

I fell in love with the Lemon Rose the first time I had it. Outstanding!

I drink a lot of water but sometimes I want some light flavor in it. This water is perfect for me!

I love them all – I can see myself fighting with my kids over them when I bring them home!

This is amazing! I love the Lemon Rose – I’m going to drink it out of a wine glass!

I like the combination of fruit and flowers – it’s delicious!

I normally don’t like flavored waters but this water is incredible!

I think this water is really great. I am a gardener and I think this is a good product.

What a brilliant product!

You expect it to have a really strong flavor and be really sweet, but it is not – love it!

Pomegranate Geranium is delicious, what an incredible burst of flavor.

Interesting and very different – this water will go far!

I am looking to get away from drinking soda and drinking more water – Blossom Water is perfect for me!

I am looking for something different for flavored water. Thanks! I love this water!

This is perfect for when I have some girlfriends over the house.

I gave up wine and am looking for healthy alternatives – this water will be one of them!

It is almost as good as wine!

It’s so nice to drink a water that does not have artificial junk in it and tastes great!

I need to hydrate more; this is a wonderful beverage to use!

Amazing! I am not a fan of flavored waters but this one I like!

Sweetened perfectly!

Drinking your Grapefruit Lilac is like taking sips of the air during what they used to call “Lilac Tide” during Rochester’s celebrated lilac season . . . The most delicious drink I think I’ve ever enjoyed!

I play tennis, so this is a great drink before and after I play!

Really refreshing! I can really taste the essences in the Lemon Rose and Grapefruit Lilac. They have a “zip” to them.

Five Trends in Functional Foods & Beverages

May 22, 2019 – Functional beverages were the fastest growing specialty food item over the past two years. . . . Millennials, who make up one-third of the country’s population, are the vanguard of this movement, says Steve Fortuna, founder and president of Blossom Water LLC, in Westwood, MA. “Consumers increasingly want their food and beverages to help maintain their wellness, shying away from products that merely try to remedy health problems, striving instead to prevent such problems from ever occurring through dietary and lifestyle changes,” he adds. “They want their beverages to ‘do something for them.’ They want hydration with purpose. But with more expansive palates, borne of greater ethnic diversity and early exposure to variety, they simultaneously put a premium on novel and nuanced flavor experience.” Blossom Water is an alternative to both plain water and sugary beverages. Containing postbiotics, 10 calories and infused with herbal mixes, the beverage comes in multiple flavors: mango hibiscus, lemon rose, plum jasmine, pomegranate geranium and grapefruit lilac. Postbiotics, like probiotics, help to keep the body’s immune system ready to fight off any foreign threats, says Fortuna. He adds, “When postbiotics are consumed regularly, the immune system’s various component parts stay ‘tuned up’ to allow for a quicker and more vigorous response to invading bad bacteria or viruses that can cause illness.” Read More

Navigating Natural Sweetener Solutions in Beverages

February 28, 2019 – Seventy-three percent of Americans are concerned with the nutritional content of their food, according to the U.S. Grocery Shopping Trends 2018 survey from The Food Marketing Institute . . . The No. 1 claim of interest is low sugar . . . The trend has beverage formulators exploring natural ingredients to keep added sugars low . . . Naturally sweet plant extracts, namely steviol glycosides, are appearing in more beverages, usually in combination with other sweetening ingredients . . . steviol glycosides have gone through many production and extraction enhancements, resulting in better-tasting varieties . . . Blossom Water, Westwood, Mass., produces functional, nature-inspired water infused with natural fruit and flower essences and sweetened with a touch of stevia . . . “There is no juice in our waters, [president and founder] Mr. Fortuna said. “All the flavor comes from the botanical essences” . . . [but] to add some sweetness . . . Blossom Water is distinguished in using 100% Reb M stevia leaf extract . . . Reb M has a more sugar-like flavor profile, with faster sweetness onset and no lingering taste like that of classic stevia Read More

A Clean Reformulation

January 2019 ‒ Blossom Water launched Version 2.0 of the line . . . for the purpose of enhancing three product features: functionality, sweetener system and packaging . . . “Version 2.0, at its very core, was designed to be a mainstream functional botanical water,” [CEO] Steve Fortuna explains . . . Citing a Datamonitor survey that questioned 28,000 consumers around the globe, Fortuna says that immune health was the No. 2 most-desired benefit in food or beverage, second only to general health and wellness. Blossom Water is addressing immune health by adding Staimune, a shelf-stable probiotic . . . There has been an increasing awareness over the past years of the benefits of probiotics . . . Because consumers traditionally have been limited to kombucha or other sour-tasting fermented products when seeking probiotics in a food or beverage, Fortuna notes that the market was ripe for a light and refreshing water that could offer the same immune health benefits . . . The brand also revisited its sweetener composition . . . Blossom Water now boasts a Nutrition Facts label of only 10 calories in each serving . . .”It’s all part of the clean label,” Fortuna says. “What we have now with high-grade stevia and a little bit of raw organic cane sugar is certainly a much cleaner, healthier blend than the prior agave and erythritol.” As to its impact on flavor, Fortuna enthuses that the sweetener refresh actually has elevated Blossom Water’s flavor profile. “Our flavors are brighter,” he explains . . . In addition to function and flavor, Blossom Water knew that if it wanted . . . to be mainstream, it would need to shift its packaging from glass to PET. “We wanted everybody to be able to drink this,” Fortuna says. “PET is good for those on the go because it’s lightweight with no breakage risk. Good for an active lifestyle is what we’re saying.” Read More

Natural Sweeteners Resonate With Consumers

September 4, 2018 – “More than one in three U.S. consumers are following a specific diet or eating pattern, and they are increasingly averse to carbohydrates and sugar, according to the 13th Annual Food and Health Survey, released in May by the International Food Information Council (IFIC). The survey highlights that more Americans blame carbohydrates, and specifically sugar, for weight gain. Although sugars continue to be the most cited cause of weight gain (33 percent), carbs ranked second at 25 percent . . . Experts note that clean label and sugar reduction are the Top 2 global trends driving new product development and innovation . . . Beloit, Wis.-based Kerry affirms these results in its June report, ‘How Sweet It Is,’ which looked at the sweetener taste preferences of 760 Americans across different age groups, gender and ethnicities. ‘With 71 percent of consumers reading the sugar content on ingredient labels, the focus on lower sugar products has never been higher.’ . . . Experts note that the use of plant-based, zero-calorie sweeteners like stevia and monk fruit are rising in preference. Taxes on sugar-sweetened beverages, the U.S. Food & Drug Administration’s (FDA) proposed 2019 ‘added sugar’ labeling requirement, and more educated consumers looking for new sweetener options is driving major change in the market . . . The improved taste profile of stevia and introduction of monk fruit has been a substantial part of why consumers are enjoying these products and willing to purchase products using natural sweeteners . . . Approved as a commercial ingredient in 2008, stevia has seen rapid adoption across a wide range of beverage applications . . . For instance, Westwood, Mass.-based Blossom Water LLC reformulated its signature blossom botanical drink to contain half the original’s low calorie and sugar content. Blossom Water Version 2.0 uses a proprietary sweetener system that blends a very low concentration of 100% next-generation reb m steviol glycosides with a tiny amount of golden organic raw sugar cane.”Read More

New Product Trends: Water, Water, Everywhere

July 17, 2018 – “Consumers are increasingly ditching sugary soda for water. ‘The bottled water category continues steady growth contributed by all segments,’ noted Megan Hambleton, a beverage analyst with consumer research firm Mintel in a 2018 water market report. ‘As consumer concern over sugar and hydration grows, still and sparkling waters alike reap the benefits.’ While bottled water is a healthier choice for consumers, it doesn’t have to be boring. Companies are getting creative with what goes inside the bottle … With flavors like lemon rose, mango hibiscus and plum jasmine, Blossom Water combines the essence of natural flower botanicals with fruit extracts. The company’s latest products limit the sugar content to 2 grams per serving.”Read More

Flower Power: Edible Flowers Blossoming Throughout Food and Beverage

June 19, 2018 – “Incorporating flowers into foods and beverages is trending hot. Whole Foods Market is just one major food purveyor that identified floral flavors as one of its top trends for 2018. But while trendy, the practice certainly isn’t new. Think of the millennia-long tradition of using rose (Rosa damascena) and saffron (Crocus sativus) in Middle Eastern and Indian cooking, or the flor de jamaica hibiscus (Hibiscus sabdariffa) beverages that for centuries have quenched thirst and recharged weary bodies in Latin America and the Caribbean. . . . Flowers provide natural colors, health advantages, unique flavors and aromas, and a sense of comfort, familiarity, and novelty to and for the consumer. . . . Fragrance further adds complexity to flavor by lending hundreds of additional notes and layers. But the sense of smell also is intrinsically tied to memory, so utilizing flowers in foods is an excellent approach for inspiring consumer interest. Evoking pleasing and comforting memories and emotions can pluck the heart strings as well as the palate and forge emotional connections to the product. . . . Blossom Water LLC, has gone out on a limb-or a vine-betting on the attraction of more bold flowers such as lilac (Sambucus spp.) and geranium (Pelargonium graveolens), which it mixes with equally assertive fruit flavors such as grapefruit and pomegranate, respectively. The company also broadens its reach with a lemon-rose variety and a nod to two Asian flavor favorites with its plum-jasmine (Jasminum officinale) beverage. . . . [And] while many flowers already contain healthful phytochemicals . . . Blossom Water LLC reformulated . . . to double the health ‘punch’ . . . [adding] probiotics, specifically the hardy Bacillus coagulans BC30 strain. . . . Developers shouldn’t just stop and smell the roses-they should taste them, feel them, be inspired by the beauty of their flavors and aromas, and incorporate those into exciting new products.”Read More

Blossom Water Preps New Bloom

May 2, 2018 ─ “Massachusetts-based botanical essence water brand Blossom Water has unveiled new packaging and a reformulation reducing the amount of sugar from 11 g to 4 g per bottle, removing erythritol and agave, and adding probiotics. Speaking with BevNET this week, co-founder and president Steve Fortuna said the rebrand moves Blossom Water away from being a ’boutique’ brand and opens the door for more mainstream appeal. The new formulation features a clean ingredient label, contains 10 calories per serving, and is sweetened with organic cane sugar and stevia. According to Fortuna, the use of erythritol created confusion and scared away consumers. The brand is also the first water to use Staimune, an immunity boosting probiotic strain developed by Ganeden using inactivated GanedenBC30.  ‘We feel very good that our functional additive is differentiated, very powerful, super on-trend, and backed by a ton of science,’ Fortuna said. . . . Also speaking with BevNET, Blossom Water COO Gale Fortuna added that Whole Foods Market identified floral flavors as the top item of its Top 10 Trends for 2018.  She said the rebrand offers the opportunity to ‘blow open the concept’ for Blossom Water and move the product away from boutique and towards a mainstream water replacement with everyday usage occasions.” Read More

Authentic in the Experience: How Brands Are Adapting as the Trends Change

September 6, 2017 ‒ “The changing markets of food and beverage has brands thinking outside the box for ways to keep up with today’s trends in the industry. During the age of millennials and the upcoming Gen Z, brands are exploring new materials, and new marketing tactics to reach these audiences. . . . Plants Playing a Role: The search for non-GMO, certified organic or vegetarian food and beverages are becoming increasingly seen. Founder and CEO of Blossom Water, Steve Fortuna came up with the idea to infuse water with flower blossoms from his many years of gardening as a hobby. His brand, Blossom Water is a refreshing, light and healthy option to water, infused with flavorful, aromatic oils of flower blossoms. ‘Back in 2013, we saw more established trends going on, and one of them was the movement towards “better for you.” People were starting to look closely at labels-understand what “natural” means, understand non-GMO, gluten free, basically look at all the ingredients carefully,’ Steve Fortuna says. The brand wanted to be as genuine as possible right out of the gate, and include an ingredient list good for the consumer. ‘Not only the ‘clean label’ aspect of our drinks, but also the creativity and freshness of our flavor profiles (with unusual floral-fruit pairings) have special allure, I think, for millennials,’ says Gale Fortuna, chief operating officer, Blossom Water. ‘Millennials tend to have expansive palates, and demand more innovation and nuance from their flavor choices; they might be viewed as the sweet spot of our customer demographic.’. . . Packaging Speaks on Shelf: Blossom Water designed their package to be very differentiated on the shelf, with a glass bottle and original artwork label applied through a clear shrink sleeve. ‘You’ve got to encourage trial, and the way you encourage that is shelf “pop,”‘ says Steve Fortuna. . . . Gale Fortuna adds: ‘We made sure our artist created not only striking but also accurately detailed botanical representations of the actual flower and fruit in each of our drinks-down to the petal count, color variation, growth habit and so on! Millennials, in particular, care a lot about the authenticity of a product, from its inspiration to its final form on the shelf.'” Read more

Blossom Water Expects To Be in Full Bloom in 2017

January 11, 2017 ‒ “Within six years, the founders of Blossom Water, Trish and Steve Fortuna, have been able to take the floral essence beverage from their backyard garden to thousands of retail stores across the U.S. . . . Blossom Water takes floral essence flavors like rose, jasmine, lilac and geranium and combines them with a base fruit flavor with a touch of sweetness from organic agave nectar and non-GMO erythritol. . . . The Fortunas realized they could appeal beyond the niche foodie crowd: to a broader consumer audience who is not necessarily interested in the innovative aspect of floral essence water, but are nevertheless searching for an alternative to water. . . . ‘We have not lost our foodie appeal because . . . foodies love the concept, they love the innovation, and they love the cutting edge aspect,’ [Steve Fortuna] added. ‘[But] The beauty about this is being able to appeal to people who say, “This is just damn good.”’ . . . Since going to market in 2013, Blossom Water has doubled in sales every year, and is setting the bar even higher in 2017. ‘We expect a triple in sales in 2017,’ Fortuna said. ‘We think sales growth is going to accelerate starting this year because we are reaching a critical mass distribution.’” Read more

Strategic Plan for a Blossoming Brand

December 16, 2016 ‒ “Innovative beverage ideas can come from many places. For Steve Fortuna, the idea for a beverage brand might have been whimsical, but his approach to bringing the idea to fruition certainly was not. Instead, the computer engineer and Wall Street financier has taken a carefully considered, highly strategic approach to every aspect of the process, from product development to market expansion, when founding Blossom Water LLC, Westwood, Mass…It wasn’t until the middle of 2013, after about 15 months of development work, that the company launched its initial line of four flavors: Lemon Rose, Plum Jasmine, Grapefruit Lilac and Pomegranate Geranium…He explains that there were two criteria he used to develop Blossom Water’s four resulting flavors. ‘It was what I like as a foodie [and] what appeals to me in terms of fragrance, what flowers ‘speak’ to me,’ Fortuna says…All of the strategies have paid off. All four flavors of Blossom Water perform with nearly equal sales, and the company has not changed the formulations in the slightest, he adds. Since its launch, the brand has achieved distribution through more than 24 warehouses throughout the United States, including several UNFI, KeHE and DPI warehouses. More are expected in the near future, Fortuna says. As distribution grows, the brand continues to build a following among more and more consumers. ‘The product resonated from the beginning, and that popularity is only building in concert with the broadening distribution and retail footprint,’ he says.” Read more

Bottled Water Is Poised To Overtake Soft Drinks, Says Blossom Water

December 7, 2016 ‒ “Blossom water is a brand that created a flower-infused, flavoured water line, and today we have an opportunity to talk to Steven Fortuna, the founder and CEO of Blossom Water…” Following are a few Fortuna quotations excerpted from this comprehensive interview: “A mock orange shrub, with its captivating citrusy fragrance, was my humble muse. About five years ago, while planting in my Berkshire Hills cottage garden, head amid the blossomed branches, I suddenly thought, ‘Wouldn’t it be amazing if we could develop a water that was infused with the essence of blossoms such as these?’…We gradually began looking into it, and our research uncovered centuries-long use of floral botanicals in beverages across the globe…So, paradoxically, the concept is both novel and traditional. But as far as the U.S. market goes, its potential has been virtually untapped. I think you can make a fair analogy to coconut water…a successful model of bringing something with proven multi-cultural consumer appeal to the American palate…My first significant decision was to add the fruit essence, as a counterbalance to my inspiration for the floral one. I knew this would not only add an element of familiar appeal for U.S. consumers, but that marrying both fruit and flower would bring critical depth and nuance to the resultant flavour. That kind of dimension, a subtle layering of taste and aroma from start to finish with each sip, is not something typically associated with flavoured water…Bottled water is now poised to overtake soft drinks as the largest nonalcoholic beverage category in terms of per capita consumption. Obviously, Blossom Water stands to benefit from this market disruption, which creates two tailwinds for us. One is the fast rising demand for bottled water as consumers gravitate away from soda to healthy alternatives. The other is the opportunity for share gain in “value-added” water (flavoured or otherwise enhanced) that is coming from plain bottled water…It was quite challenging to achieve this extensive yet selective footprint in the mere three years of our existence, and speaks to the way our product and brand are resonating with consumers. But to use a baseball metaphor, we’re now at bat with bases loaded, and capable of hitting a grand slam in terms of major new grocery chain authorizations. The recent Kroger endorsement, which added over 1,000 stores across the U.S. to our retail base, was our first home run…We believe we are on the road to becoming a large national brand specializing in floral-infused water and addressing the entire U.S. bottled water drinking market.” Read more

Blossom Water

October 30, 2016 ‒ “I had absolute pleasure in trying all of their exotic flavors…[and] love every one. I liked the Grapefruit Lilac the best, I THOUGHT, but every time I tried the next flavor, it tried to sway me over, LOL…The flavors blended together are so tasteful and light. They are not over sweetened in any way like other flavored waters can be. A great idea would be to grab a bunch of one particular flavor, add into a beautiful punch bowl with some edible flowers floating, for a wonderful and delicious conversation piece. When Hydration Isn’t Enough: The Rise of Functional and Enhanced Waters

October 13, 2016 ‒ “U.S. sales of bottled water will surpass those of carbonated soft drinks for the first time this year, with much of the former category’s booming business coming at the expense of the latter’s…Here’s a look at [three] subcategories gaining traction in the functional and enhanced waters segment…FLORAL INFUSED…For Blossom Water, the brand’s recent authorization at more than 1,000 Kroger-owned stores – twice its existing distribution footprint – serves as further validation for the floral-infused essence water space. ‘The category has proved itself,’ says [President and Co-founder] Fortuna. ‘We’re beyond the question of whether floral essence waters appeal to the consumer. The answer is they do, so now it’s time to knock down more distribution points.’” Read more

A Range Of Natural Essence Waters Inspired By Nature

October 6, 2016 ‒ “This beautiful product line begins with an amazing and unique hand-painted fruit and flower design on every attractive glass bottle and ends with a delightful tasting, healthy floral drink. Pomegranate Geranium…The taste is very refreshing, as this drink is not overly sweet…After just one sip, one can definitely taste the flavourful floral note that subtly complements the pomegranate…Plum Jasmine…The aroma of this flavour is very well blended, with the jasmine slightly overtaking the plum fragrance…Sweetness and sourness are well blended with a perfect ratio…Grapefruit Lilac…A strong but well-combined flavour…After a sip, the lilac overtakes the grapefruit flavour notes. The natural essence of this flower gives not only a unique but refreshing feeling in the mouth…Lemon Rose…The sharp and clear citrus flavour is well matched with a slight note of roses. After the first sip, the rose overtakes the lemon flavour, and one can taste the clear and fresh floral notes…Such an interesting beverage category can become a great competitor not only to refreshment drinks, such as vitamin water or iced tea, but also a great example of a drink for adults. It can be enjoyed alone or used as a unique mixer for alcoholic cocktails.” Read more

Blossom Water: A Little Taste of Summer in a Bottle

September 30, 2016 ‒ “The weather is pretty dreary here in New Jersey today, and I’m missing those long, sweet days of summer. So I thought I’d share a little sunshine with you, in the form of an awesome new drink that I first heard of at The Fancy Food Show in New York. It’s called Blossom Water, and it’s actually pure water infused with natural fruit and flower essences. Yes, flowers!!…I have to admit, I was a little nervous to try them. I just had a fear that the flavors were going to be overly flowery or something, or that I would get some kind of weird allergy from them, since I have an allergy to certain pollens. Nothing could have been further from the truth!…They are low in calories and contain natural ingredients that you can totally understand when you read the label…The story of how the drink came to be is really interesting. I love the natural concept, and the innovative aspect of it. My favorite was the plum jasmine, which had such a nice, light fruity flavor with just a tiny touch of jasmine essence behind it. I can’t even explain what it really tastes like, but ‘fresh’ is the best word that comes to mind. You might have seen me post some pictures on Instagram of the lemon rose flavor, too, which again has such a nice, refreshing flavor. I almost feel like you could serve them at a tea party, instead of tea! Read more

Blossom Water in Full Bloom on US Beverage Scene

September 7, 2016 ‒ “For Steve Fortuna, staying sane while navigating bear and bull markets in the world of high finance was all thanks to his passion for gardening. A few years ago while tending to his garden in the Berkshires, Steve had a refreshing epiphany. ‘The inspiration was simple,’ Steve said. ‘Imagine if one could infuse water with the beautiful aroma and flavor of flowers.’ About fifteen months later, Steve and his wife Trish launched the original Blossom Water line in 2013 featuring Lemon Rose, Plum Jasmine, Grapefruit Lilac and Pomegranate Geranium flavored waters…Capturing the delicate alchemy of flowers in a refreshing beverage was challenging to say the least…’What’s complicated is the formulation. It’s complicated because you have to get the right balance of fruit and flower,’ [said Steve.] Once the Blossom Water team cracked it, they were left with a perfectly actualized drink, in four flavors no less. Steve believes that even though Blossom Water is a premium beverage, it has the power to become a massive national brand. ‘It is premium, but we believe that the product is mainstream,’ Steve said. ‘We’re very excited about the future.’” Read more

Nationwide Deal with Kroger for Blossom Water Reflects Growing Interest in Floral Beverages

September 1, 2016 ‒ “Can water with floral essences become the next coconut water? Blossom Water founder Steve Fortuna thinks so…The beverages’ flavor and aroma come mostly from essences ‒ which are derived from the named plant…’The challenge was in the formulation,’ [Fortuna] said. The company spent 12 to 15 months coming up with the right amount of ingredients before it launched in the autumn of 2013…Floral waters are novel, but not that novel…Because floral water has been consumed for centuries by other cultures, [Fortuna] thinks the flower water category’s growth trajectory here in the US can be similar to what happened with coconut water. ‘Coconut water has been used for centuries in South America.
